I'm ok with planning for the rest of my life. I think it's part of an identity. I identify as a planner.

I also give myself grace that sometimes a plan for a meal is "PVC' which means Protein, Vegetable, Carb. It's ok that sometimes, like today, I can tell you exactly - we are having Leftover Chicken Picatta, Bread, and Salad for dinner. Sometimes I am not sure yet, I haven't talked to Dear Husband, I want DH to be the decision-artor today, etc. It helps me when I talk to DH for the week and say "Are you in the mood for something this week? Do we have a Big Day where we should plan on going out or having a pizza night?"

Seeing other's people's comments about planning, my opinion is that people are too hard on themselves and think that "planning" has to include a measurement, the specific amount of mustard, etc. I love the idea that just not having to make a decision at the end of the day is the best reason for sending your future 6:00 pm self a note with what they could have for dinner!

PS - I reach first for protein and produce. I can also do that for the rest of my life.
